Story
On 15th July 2018 I shall be setting off from Thurso and travelling around the North Coast 500 in a new Volvo 170 20t wheeled excavator in conjunction with SMT Volvo. The trip is going to take approximately 1 week. I aim to return on Saturday 21st July to the Caithness County Show Field.
I have decided to take on this charity venture to raise money for the four charities below, as over the years I have often been away working at significant times in my friends lives.
Four of my closest friends have sadly lost a parent over the years and I have chosen to do this in memory of their parents. I was unable to attend all four funerals due to working away. Although I cannot change not being there at the time I hope the money raised will help show my support and that the charities will benefit and be able to continue to help families through these difficult times.
The four charities that the money will be split between are:
• MacMillan Cancer Support
• Town and County Palliative Care Hospital Wick
• Diabetes UK Inverness & District Group
• Tiny Tickers
