Alan has been a volunteer and colleague for many years at Bluesci. Supporting people to improve their mental health and wellbeing. Nothing has ever been too much trouble, always available to offer a helping hand. A very active man and keen runner.

Sadly he was involved in an accident at home December 2017, which has left him paralysed with little movement. He is currently in a rehabilitation unit in Southport and would dearly love to get back to Trafford to his family and friends. To do this Alan will require specially adapted accommodation and support. All the funds raised will go to Alan to purchase specialist equipment to enable him to live more comfortably.

As a colleague and full-time couch potato Alan would often try to encourage me to join him on his early morning runs. I used to say "i can't run with my knees, at my age, carrying this weight". But I owe it to Alan who has done so much for Bluesci to give it a go...... he has been my inspiration.

I have been in training for over nine weeks, working towards a 5K sponsored park run (Couch to 5K) that will take place on Saturday 17th March 2018. This sponsored run is in aid of raising funds towards Alan’s rehabilitation.
