On 22 September 2016 my dad received the devastating news that he had an extremely rare type of cancer of the salivary gland which had spread to his lungs and was classed as terminal. Our world was torn apart from being on such a high following the birth of my first child and my dads first grandchild to the prospect of loosing my dad before Christmas, I don't have the words to explain how heart shattering this news was.

Due to the rarity of the cancer, the treatment options are extremely limited because only a handful of people have this cancer each year limiting the amount of research that can be done. If the chemotherapy he receives works then he could have up to 3 years and if it doesn't then he could have between 6-12 months. The problem we face is that the chemotherapy to use is a guessing game because they don't know what will work making it a trial and error procedure but unfortunately time isn't on his side.

I'm trying to raise money to allow my dad to pay for extra chemotherapy sessions so they can throw everything they can at him to give him the best chance to keep on going and enter onto clinical trials which could be life saving and give him years with his granddaughter and family which at the moment is a hopeful wish.
