Story
The Challenge:- 100 press-ups, 100 squats, 100 sit-ups followed by a 10Km EVERYDAY for the 31 days of March (3100 press-ups, 3100 squats, 3100 sit-ups, 310Km) **Mose is exempt from the 10Km.
Alex and Matt here, two physios from Hull, and Mose Masoe, rugby league player who suffered a spinal cord injury and left paralysed in 2020, are completing the challenge throughout March to raise money for life changing physiotherapy for children who have developmental conditions. The money rasied will be split between 2 charities, inc., Cerebral Palsy Society (Hull)
We have seen the impact regular physio has for both the children and for their families. It really is life changing, and can accelerate both mental and physical developments. This can lead to children walking independantly, sitting unsupported, going to the bathroom by themselves, who otherwise may not reach these milestones.
My daughter Storey is 23-months-old and has global development delays. She started physio with Lisa 6 months ago when she was 17-months-old; at this age she was unable to crawl, stand or even sit unsupported. Her fine motor skills were also poor. Storey began an initial 6-week intensive course followed by weekly sessions. Within this short time, Storey has become very mobile! She can crawl all over the house, she can stand unaided whilst playing with toys and there has been a clear improvement in her fine motor skills, too. We are so proud of her achievements and I can't explain how it feels to see my little girl progressing so brilliantly. - Lucy Thompson (Storey's mother)
Overall access to physiotherapy and healthcare has never been more challenging due to COVID-19, and for these children, time is important. The more intesive care they recieve at a young age means they have a much greater chance at develping their physical and mental states.
Please support us as we perfrom 100 press-ups, 100 squats, 100 sit-ups and a 10Km run every day for 31 days throughout March !!
Thanks so much
