Story
Hello
The World Scout Jamboree is hosted every four years, and is an educational event that brings together scouts from all over the world to promote peace and mutual understanding.
In 2019 it will be hosted at The Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia, and myself and four others from the Spen Valley District are lucky enough to have been selected to participate and represent West Yorkshire at the Jamboree. We will be amongst a contingent of 4,000 scouts representing the UK at the event.
To get there, I need to raise £3,800 and am taking part in a number of different fund raising events to help me reach my total.
In August, while on holiday in France and together with my Dad, I will be cycling up Mont Ventoux, named as the toughest climb in the Tour de France at an altitude of 6,273 ft. We will also be riding Les Gorges de la Nesque – a combined distance of 50 miles with 6,500 feet of climbing!
I would really appreciate any donations to help me reach my goal and get me on my way towards this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Thank you for your support.
Alfie
