I wake up each morning thinking how lucky I am to pick my own challenges. Friends and family I know haven't/aren't as lucky and have been forced to get up each day and fight cancer. This year I have decided to do 12 challenges (one each month) to raise money for 2 amazing local cancer charities:
Daft as a Brush - www.daftasabrush.org.uk - offers staffed custom made vehicles to transport outpatients free of charge, to and from Hospital who are undergoing Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy cancer treatment.
Maggie's - www.maggiescentres.org - based at the Freeman Hospital, Maggie's offers free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their families and friends. Help is offered to anyone with any type of cancer.
I plan to challenge myself throughout the next 12 months which includes a night run, marathon and mountain climbing, none of which I have done before. With the help and support from my family and friends I can smash this and raise as much money as I can for 2 fantastic charities.
