Story
Alison Walsh WCF37 is raising money for The Deafness Resource Centre
One in Six people experience deafness!!
Local independent charity, The Deafness Resource Centre provides services that aim to empower, support and enhance the quality of life of D/deaf people in the St Helens, Halton and wider areas.
Generous donors and fundraisers like you are the key to our success and make it possible for us to continue the work that we do. All money raised will go towards the running of our services which currently include:
· Helping people with equipment around the home e.g. flashing doorbells, phone amplifiers, TV listening devices
· Providing sign language Interpreters for Deaf people who are going to appointments at the hospital, doctors, meetings etc
· Advocating for deaf people who may be struggling to get their point across
· Providing play and activity sessions for deaf children and young people, and their friends and family
· Offering a thriving community centre for a wide range of activities such as keep fit, martial arts, dancing and craft sessions
· Delivering Deaf Awareness Training to schools, community groups, staff meetings etc
· Running a Befriending Scheme to help deaf people feel less isolated
