    Weʼve raised £855 to contribute towards ALL ABOARD for Deshar Nursery

    Boat of Garten, UK
    Funded on Thursday, 14th February 2019

    What is crowdfunding?

    Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

    The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

    Boat of Garten has, recently, received a welcome injection of young people, and now has 26 children under the age of 4yrs.
    However, this really good news will have an impact on those children wishing to attend Deshar School nursery. The number of places available would have to double by August 2020 to accommodate all the children that want a place.

    After discussions with Rhona Bootle (Head of Deshar) and the Highland Council it became apparent that their ability to provide parents with a nursery place of their choice, is very likely be constrained by a lack of allocated capital expenditure resources.

    A Project Group - ALL ABOARD for Deshar nursery - has been formed: Ann Napier (Chair): Sharon Wilkinson (Treasurer): Kim Dixon: Jo-Ann Clark: Claire Clark: Allan Richards: Iona Clark. It has become a Boat of Garten Community Company Group.
    It aims to:
    • work with Showboaters and others in the community to co-ordinate, organise, and run fundraising activities, and to apply for Grant Funding;
    • work with Highland Council to ensure the nursery will have sufficient places by August 2020 to allow all parents who wish it to obtain a place in the nursery for their children

    After meeting with the Highland Council we are delighted to have their support in principle for what we are about to do.

    The details of what form the expansion of places at the nursery school will take will be discussed in detail by the ALL ABOARD group with Senior Officers of HC.

    The agreed fundraising target is a whopping...........£100,000!

    To reach this target Showboaters will put on a number of performances over 2018 and 2019, the proceeds of which will go to the ALL ABOARD project. There will be other fundraising efforts within the community as well.

    Every little helps, we hope that you will be able to donate to our project. Whatever you can give will make a difference.

    Thank you!
