Story
Kelvin was a life long friend, guitarist and co-song writer with Ohibo Paronti. He was an extremely talented musician and a most caring, kind person. Sadly due to a severe hearing illness and a growing fear of suffering with dementia related illness as his mother and father had, Kelvin took his own life in 2017.
Kelvin had many friends around the World, not only through music, but through his many years working in the oil industry in Libya.
His passing caused huge shock and sadness for all of us who knew him. At his funeral the generosity shown by all was overwhelming with hundreds of pounds being collected and passed on to the Heads Together Charity. This organisation has now put me in touch with CALM, one of its chosen charities, which help to raise awareness in preventing male suicides. The three remaining members of Ohibo Paronti have decided to give an albums worth of songs to be released and all profits given to CALM in memory of Kelvin. Original artwork for the album cover has already been produced for free by young artist Wendy Tartarai. The Album will simply be entitled Ohibo Paronti In memory of Kelvin Edmunds.
All recorded Ohibo songs are in 1/4" reel to reel format. As these are from the late 1970's and early 1980's there needs to be a careful process of transfering them into a digital format. I have been in touch with a highly reputable Recording Studio who have stated they can undertake this task. However, this comes at a cost as there are 4 tapes to be transfered. The target quoted is to cover these costs and the production and printing of 100 CDs, together with worldwide distribution digitally on numerous platforms to include iTunes, Amazon, Deezer, Spotify etc.
If there is any digital remastering necessary of the songs I will undertake this myself, as well as all the necessary work needed to get this tribute up and running. Every penny of profit will be given to CALM and as I've done previously all monies received and used will be evidenced publicly for all to see.
Please help to make this tribute to Kelvin a reality and and in doing so hopefully help many others who feel as he did, to see that there are so many people who care about them than they probably could ever imagine. Love is the answer and you know that for sure.
Thank you
Allan
