    Story

I want to do this epic adventure so that I can bring hope to those who are suffering with terminal illnesses and help them have a brighter tomorrow. I am doing this also for myself so I know I can climb this ‘mountain’. People think I’m a bit crazy for wanting to do this but I say ‘I may be crazy but I’m not letting an opportunity for epic adventure pass me by’ and then they understand why I’m doing it. I am not an experienced kayaker but I am determined and an experienced camper.
For the past couple years it has been my dream to kayak around Europe and Asia but then I thought; go big or go home. So the desire to travel the world in a kayak was fully born. I know it will not easy, nothing good is ever achieved easily, but I am very willing to try and break the record of furthest travelled in a kayak around the world. The current record is over 8,000 miles and I am hoping to set a new world record and travel over 8,000 possibly even do 9 to 10,000 miles around the world. I predict that this voyage would take about two years plus to complete and that includes setting off from my hometown down the coast of the UK towards and making the crossing to France to Calais by kayak and then around the coast towards the Fjords and into the Baltic sea then back out and through the icefields of the Russian and Siberian continent of northern Europe.
I am also fully aware of the ice that would potentially rip my kayak and cause me to sink. I am under no illusions of the danger of this trip. I understand that there is the possibility of loss of life in the icefields and in the kayak generally but I see this as an acceptable risk as I won’t be going alone. I am currently looking to recruit two extra people to come with me on this trip. I am also aware that there are a multitude of other dangers that could end the trip if not my life such as disease, exposure, starvation dehydration etc.
