    Story

Some of my close friends and colleagues already know that I have been a member within the Amber Community First Responder group since 2015, helping respond to calls within our local community alongside the amazing East Midland Ambulance Service. I also help out with the masses of paperwork, fund raising and community demonstrations.

As responders we are based in our local communities and give our time voluntarily, when required we attend life threatening incidents as first response, often arriving before the Ambulance to try and give the patient the best chance of survival.

In order to save lives it is important for responders to have the correct equipment and this includes a defibrillator, they are very expensive and as a group we have to provide our own.

I am trying to raise money to purchase a full kit which costs approximately £2000, I will of course be contributing myself as I have in the past and I hope that you can help by offering a donation no matter how small, it will go a long long way in helping me to respond to incidents within our local communities with the vital equipment needed.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.

I am a trained volunteer as a Community First Responder with the East Midlands Ambulance Service. CFR's have been compared to the Ambulance Service equivalent of retained Fire Fighters, Police Specials.I think we are more like the RNLI, volunteers, self funded through donations.
