Story
Christian witness in Chedgrave
Our church appears to date from the early 12th century, but it may well have been Saxon in origin. Over those centuries, it has faithfully served Chedgrave in Christian witness, prayer, and teaching. All Saints remains very active in ministry in the parish and further afield. Its activity brings benefit to many individuals, families, the environment, and village life .
Our Christian outlook implies an awareness of our place in Creation, and we are enthusiastic about improving the local environment. To that end, we have been awarded Bronze Eco Church status by A Rocha (https://ecochurch.arocha.org.uk/) and have joined both the Chet Valley B-Line (https://www.facebook.com/Chet-Valley-B-Line-109990030578582/) and Wild East (https://wildeast.co.uk/). Our charitable work includes supporting Tearfund (https://www.tearfund.org/), Rainforest Alliance (https://www.rainforest-alliance.org/), and the local charity, Clinks Care Farm (https://clinkscarefarm.org.uk/). We are a Fair Trade church.
Our costs
Maintaining the building and churchyard, undertaking our work, and paying our way are costly. In 2019, the mean weekly expenditure was about £606. This year we expect our costs to be about £640 each week. Of that sum, we have to pay the Diocese of Norwich about £450 as our weekly parish share.
Are you able to help?
If so, please make a donation to this Just Giving page. Any donation, however small, helps; if it can be made under GiftAid, that is even better, as we can recover the tax paid (at no extra cost to the donor). Thank you
