The Journey of AlRa TV

I started AlRa TV in 2007 as a passion project to help spread Mehdi/Messiah Foundation International’s message of divine love and interfaith unity. Volunteers of the MFI work in different communities around the globe to raise awareness of spirituality to cater for the needs of all humanity. Their efforts have brought together people of different religions and communities. Learn more about the MFI here.

Initially, I posted clips of our activities and programmes, but after uploading speeches by the CEO of MFI, HH Younus AlGohar, I realised that people were really interested in learning more from him (read HH Younus AlGohar’s story here ). That’s when I enlisted the help of a few friends to regularly upload videos of him speaking on a range of topics - and that’s when AlRa TV really took off. When we began, we had only amateur equipment: a single camera, poor lighting and a couple of Dell laptops. We started to dedicate time, energy and all our spare money towards improving AlRa TV.

Fast forward 10 years and here we are. Now, we are uploading videos every 2-3 days. We've saved up and bought a state-of-the-art camera to improve your viewing experience. We broadcast live from our office in London on YouTube, Facebook, Periscope and Livestream every single day starting at 10:00 PM UK time. Our live videos have English captions for anyone having difficulty understanding the subject matter. We have a 24 hour WhatsApp line and messenger service dedicated to answering your questions and presenting them to HH Younus AlGohar during the live video sessions.

Our channel has seen a huge growth in audience over the last year. We have over 12 000 subscribers from all over the world. We’re doing our best to cater to everyone, but it is clear to us now that to continue to provide our high standard of service and content, we need to update our system. With our outdated system, we can’t edit and produce as many videos as we could be. We’re doing what we can with the funds we have, but it isn’t enough to provide AlRa TV’s current services to the growing number of people who need it.
