Weʼre raising £8,000 to Help my grandmother with walking equipment and care
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
My 85 year old grandmother had a fall in April and needed a hip operation. She has been hospitalised since the operation. A few weeks ago she had a fall while trying to lift herself out of the hospital bed and fractured her wrist. This has set her recovery back and although we tend to be upbeat my grandmother has missed a lot, including my child's 2nd Birthday, a family wedding.
She has recently been moved into a temporary accommodation and is undergoing physiotherapy.
We have been advised that my grandmother may not be able to recover 100% due to her age and being diabetic.
To make life as easy as possible for my grandmother for when she comes home we want to make some alterations to her home. We had a home assessment done and have put forward some ideas. Although the hospital have assisted with providing a walking frame and stair rail, we would like to make other altercations such as creating a wet room, purchasing a wheelchair, ensuring she has access to the rear garden which will involve widening the doorways
We as a family have put together a small amount of money and require a little bit more to go towards the home changes we need to make before my grandmother comes home.
We hope to hit this target the space of 30 days. Anything over that target we are going to donate to the care home where she is currently undergoing her physiotherapy.
