3 Years ago we went on holiday to Kenya and although we stayed in some very beautiful places we also witnessed the significant level of poverty that so many of the families in this country live in. We came back knowing that we wanted to go back one day not for another holiday but to help in some way. Kenya certainly found a place in our hearts.
Over the last 3 years through a set of circumstances we have grown to know and really believe in the work of the Hope & Kindness Charity in Kosele, Kenya. This is a small but amazing charity which is based in a very poor rural community where many of the people live on a dollar a day or less.
The charity works closely with the local community to provide a home for children who have lost their parents or their parents are too ill to look after them; a primary school and secondary school for children who otherwise would not have an education and also a community farm.
In April of this year we are planning to visit the Hope & Kindness charity to work with them on a volunteer basis for 2 weeks. As such over the last 12 months we have been raising money to support this trip and also to support the purchase of equipment for the charity. To date Andrew's school, Hazeloak School in Shirley, have raised an amazing £2,000 for equipment for the charity and we have raised £1800 for the trip itself. Over the next couple of months we hope to raise a further £400 towards the trip. This is where we would ask for your help in making this trip possible. Thank you.
