    Story

Hi everyone I'm a 24 year old girl with many different illnesses some which are life threatening. I began getting ill at the age of 13 and everything went downhill from the age of 16. I have had various admissions to ITU and had to be put on a ventilator quite a few times. As time went by my spine also developed problems and I began to get pain into my legs. About just over 2 years ago I stopped breathing for over an hour and an ambulance didn't get to me fast enough so I ended up with a hypoxic brain injury. This has left me with left sided weakness. I had to learn to walk, talk and do normal things again. They say to describe it as if you've had a stroke as it's very similar. As time has gone on my left leg won't support me anymore and now I have to use a wheelchair the majority of the time. But Just over a year ago I found a wheelchair basketball club and since I found them I have never looked back. I have made lots of new friends. I can play sports again which I had to stop because of my illnesses. It has helped with my depression and also gets me out of the house at least twice a week. I also have started playing matches which are great fun but are difficult in a borrowed chair that doesn't fit me properly. I would love my own chair to allow me to develop in this sport further and also to make it easier for me when playing as the chair would fit me perfect. I have been given a grant for a chair but need to put £350 towards it and I only have 30 days in which to do so or I loose the funding and won't be able to get my own chair. If you could help me I would be so grateful and I would keep you all updated on my progress with pictures. If you can help thank you and if you can't then you can't that's ok too but if you can share my story others may be able to help 😊🏀🏀🏀♿️ (if I can pick a colour what would you guys suggest as I'll get whatever the majority of people say)

First off thank you to all the amazing people who have donated and shared this page your support means more than you can imagine. I just wanted to update you on the division I play in, yesterday the division 4 team won and out of 6 games we only lost 1 therefore are champions 😊🏀♿️. Now I have this experience the new chair will enable me to take this experience further and hopefully be able to play in other divisions and the women's team. 🏀🏀🏀♿️
