This page has been set up to help someone who has been having difficulty paying off their debts for quite some time. The reason they are struggling to meet the monthly payments is due to high interest rates. The £6k we are trying to raise is just a small portion of the total loan amount but it will help ease the burden for the person for the time being.

It is also mentioned in the Qur'an, Surah Al-Tawbah, Verse 60 - Zakah expenditures are only for the poor and for the needy and for those employed to collect [zakah] and for bringing hearts together [for Islam] and for freeing captives [or slaves] and for those in debt and for the cause of Allah and for the [stranded] traveler - an obligation [imposed] by Allah . And Allah is Knowing and Wise.

The loans were taken out to help someone but they turned around and refused to pay this person back. From intending to do something good, this person has unfortunately been left with having to repay these debts.

I know that the person I am trying to be help has been left depressed with this whole situation. They would also be very grateful with this gesture and I know that, god forbid, if another person was to ever fall on hard times like this, they would be the first person to help if they were in a better situation inshaAllah.
