Story
Every year on the third Saturday in November, the people of Ambleside parade through the town at dusk, carrying hundreds of paper lanterns.
Young and old turn out to witness this spectacular procession, as traffic is halted and Christmas street lights throughout the town centre are switched on as if by magic by Santa Claus. Then there are FIREWORKS . .
We've created this page to help people donate online. All money will go towards this years Ambleside Community Christmas lights on the 16th November.

5 years agoQuick update for all you lovely donators and everyone else that supports this amazing weekend. Last lot of main lights are going up this weekend with a very early start on Sunday morning for some of us! Cruise tickets should all be sorted now and hopefully in the post. Willow Lantern workshops were run over half term and were a great success. Rainbow Fireworks have confirmed they are all ready to go and have said. "we have got some fantastic new effects this year, with some truly jaw dropping fireworks". Thank you all once again, Drew

Well done for keepin the event going. We visit from Fife every year for that weekend and hope to keep doing so. It would be great if more local businesses who benefit could be encouraged to support.
