What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Amelia was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer just before her 7th birthday last year. Following several months of chemotherapy, surgeons decided that her leg must be amputated.
In January this year Amelia had surgery to remove her leg and during very innovative surgery her ankle joint was attached to her thigh to act as her knee joint. It was called a rotationplasty.

This will enable Amelia to run around with her friends and continue with her love of dancing lessons and gymnastics. She will need prosthetic activity blades which are not available on NHS.

This means we will need to raise in excess of £30,000 to provide blades until she reaches adulthood. Each blade costs around £5000.

If anyone feels that they can help Amelia, please donate however much you can afford, from pennies to pounds. Every little helps.

Amelia is very brave and continues to receive chemotherapy. It often makes her feel ill but she can always manage a smile!

Thank you to everyone who continues to donate and raise money for Amelia. She continues to be an inspiration to us all. Enjoying life and always with a smile. It will be wonderful when she is able to be fitted with her first prosthetic and hopefully soon after with a blade. Here’s to seeing you dance again Amelia !

Another Big Thank You to everyone who has donated to Amelia’s Fund. We continue to find different ways to raise money to reach our target. So many people are not only generous with their money but their time , ideas and skills too. Amelia has just completed her in patient chemotherapy and will hopefully soon be ‘ringing the bell’ on the Oncology ward signalling the end of being an in patient. Amelia would like to say thank you for the Unicorn present too! THANK YOU all.

Hi Diane. I held a BBQ to raise some money last Saturday for Amelia. Unfortunately it rained - rather poured - and many people stayed away. Even so, £80 was raised on the evening.Linda
