Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Amina Hamadi, 54 years old lives in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
A mother of three, Amina has no wages and no way of getting food, or healthcare. Her children are all grown up and live far away, unable to bring her money. Wages in Tanzania are very poor, meaning that when her children are able to work, their wages don't even cover their trip to visit. I am writing this on behalf of her son, who has been working himself to death trying to provide for her, but is now unable to work.
Amina has Depression, Diabetes and High Blood Pressure. She has no way of getting the medical help she needs and instead leads a dark life, as her eyesight is failing her and she can only see things that are right on front of her face. A life without sight, medication and movement isn't a way to live.
This is where she sleeps. On a mattress on the floor, no cover, no mosquito net to keep her safe from Malaria. She has one pillow and that's it. Amina's feet are failing her and she hasn't the strength to stand for more than a few minutes, which worsens every day. She can't walk to get water, or carry it if she could.
This is her bathroom. Amina has nothing to keep her balance or stand her up, and is unable to buy toilet paper. She is in dire need of help.
No one should have to live this way! With any money that you are able to help us raise we will be paying for a home helper, toiletries, food and medicines that can help her live a better life. We are aiming to help give her some sort of a life back.
Amina is almost 55 and is living her life as an old women, what should be the time of her life is now the hardest part. Please, please, please think about your own mothers, would you let your mother live like this?
