    Story

Fund needed for running ABA therapy for my son, Rokhan, two years and eight months old, who is autistic who is currently not talking, communicating and understanding basic instructions. The Speech and Language Therapist assessed Rokhan in November 2016 and she said Rokhan has "a severe language delay and significant social communication difficulties." and he has "rigid and unusual patterns of play and behaviour". She told us our son is autistic and so we should build more awareness in this matter. Based on our research and studies, we learned ABA therapy would be highly beneficial for tackling his condition and early intervention is quite important in treatment of persons with autistic spectrum. We would like to start this therapy for him but cannot afford it and have no other financial means to be able to run this therapy. We met/contacted some families with autistic child. Based on their advice and experience, initially we need to run three to six months of therapy before we could request funding from local authorities. This would help to prove the therapy is working effectively for the child development; otherwise it would not be supported by local authorities. Therefore we are planning to run intensive therapy at least 30 hours per week for a period of 3 months. This would cost around £7,650.00 which would cover the cost of therapist and consultants pay.

Rokhan has been referred to the Child Development Centre for formal diagnoses and been offered speech and language therapy sessions; which were 5 sessions in total; 30/45 minutes/once a week by local children centre. These few sessions improved his eye contact to some extent which gave us a hope that intensive ABA would work as well. According to my research young children like my son will benefit effectively from the ABA therapy if he gets it at intensive level. We believe ABA therapy is the rational treatment to improve his life condition & enable him to have a better independent life now and in future.

I am raising money to continue ABA therapy of my son, Rokhan, who has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The therapy started in late July 2017 and is doing magic but needs to be continued.
