Amy is planning on swimming 100 lengths, 40 more than last year! Amy has just turned 8 years old and this will be the longest swim she has ever swum without stopping. As the rules state she is not allowed to swim backstroke, Amy will complete this challenge using only frontcrawl and breaststroke. This 2.5k swim will be an individual event, and Amy will be completing this all on her own! We have had lots of practice sessions and Amy has completed the 100 lengths numerous times so are hoping for a personal best time on the day - 90 minutes!

Every week in the UK at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions. Since its formation in 1995, Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) has been working to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). CRY supports young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions and offers bereavement support to families affected by YSCD. CRY promotes and develops heart screening programmes and funds medical research. CRY publishes and distributes medical information written by leading cardiologists for the general public. CRY funds fast track referral, screening and cardiac pathology services at leading UK hospitals.
