Weʼve raised £480 to Improve the Health and Wellbeing of disabled children aged 7 and under in Malawi through the medium of music.

    Glasgow, United Kingdom
Funded on Thursday, 15th June 2017

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

I have been asked by the charity 'Aiming Higher in Malawi to go out to Africa this coming June to work with disabled children. My aim is to introduce musical percussion instruments to the disabled children (7 and under) to improve their motor skills, health and wellbeing and to more importantly allow these children the opportunity to play instruments for the first time. I will also be working in the female prison with women and children and I will be involved in many other educational and humanitarian projects. For many, this will be their first experience of interacting with others. The money raised will allow me to make a difference to some of the poorest, neglected and wretched women and children on the planet.
    Please help.

This £1000 I am asking for your help to raise with me will pay for my return flight to Malawi and for the two or three second hand fiddles and violin cases I am hoping to take over to Malawi and leave there for the young women I will teach. Also for accommodation and baggage allowance to bring over clothes, toiletries, and projectors for schools in Malawi. The more money the more lives can be changed /saved. I can also use any money I have to help free women from prison - this really is an unbelievable place.

    Thank you xox
