Weʼve raised £900 to 'Bail' Jake out of custody for a local charity

Funded on Friday, 5th October 2018

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

This morning I was 'arrested' by real police officers on behalf of the fantastic charity East Anglia Anchorage Trust.

They help homeless young people aged 18-30 to get back on their feet, putting a roof over their heads, providing employability training and helping them learn life skills, with the ultimate goal of getting them involved in meaningful activity, into work and able to support themselves.

On Tuesday 12 June I will be tried for my crimes at Great Yarmouth Magistrate’s Court, in a mock trial involving real magistrates and barristers. After that I will need to raise £1000 bail money for the Anchorage Trust. Any donation you’re able to give will make a real difference in the lives of these underprivileged young people, and help get me back on the street (although you can also donate to keep me locked up..!).

I was arrested in the middle of a meeting of my networking group, BNI Kett Chapter, in front of 30 other business owners. It shocked everyone in the room, seeing someone they knew being arrested out of the blue, and I have to admit I’m surprised by what a challenging experience it was for me too, even though I knew it was coming.

For me it’s a reminder of how lucky I am to have the life I do, and a great opportunity to help people who really need it.

All donations will be passed directly to the charity. Thank you so much for anything you can give.
