Dearest Family & Friends,

In November 2017 I am running 10km of the Athens Marathon in aid of these two organisations that are very close to our hearts - this is the first time I'm asking to be sponsored, and most probably the last as I realised too late that running is really not my thing :-)

As some of you may know, our family has been on a special journey for the past three years - understanding and helping a (super :-)) loved one in a battle with an eating disorder.

We have learnt that there is a serious lack of awareness and information on the subject. I feel passionate about doing what I can to change this.

Beat is the UK's leading charity supporting those affected by eating disorders and campaigning on their behalf. Founded in 1989 as the Eating Disorders Association, it celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2014. The charity is dedicated to helping people with anorexia nervosa, bulimia, binge eating disorder, emotional overeating, EDNOS and other eating disorders, and providing information to the public about these conditions. Our daughter's journey changed course for the better when she joined Le Ciel Foundation, helping film an incredible documentary called The Twelve (please click here to watch the trailer - The Twelve).
