My husband and I would like to raise money for two charitable causes. This July we are taking part in a marathon hike, through the Peak district ,organised by a well known high profile Cancer support charity. Sadly, I dont know anyone whose life hasn’t been affected by cancer, whether its yourself or a beloved member of your family or friend. The charity does an amazing job to support when and where its needed most. However, the cause closest to our heart is The Jack Mudd Practice Academy, to support and encourage local youth to take up and learn to play golf. This has been set up in memory of my beautiful talented nephew Jack Mudd, who was tragically killed in a car accident in October 2015 aged just 19. Jack had a great passion and gift for the game of golf and had accepted an offer to attend University in Florida, USA where he was due to start last September. Jack was so full of life and lived for his family and friends; and golf! We miss Jack terribly and sadly will never see him realise his dreams and achieve his goals. The Jack Mudd Practice Academy gives us all an opportunity to see Jack’s memory live on whilst giving something back to the local young people and through a sport that our beloved Jack was so passionate about.
