Story
Coscine (Community Support For Children in Need) Uganda have a vision for all children to fulfil their ful potential in life. They run a school for local children, as well as a feeding programme and health education. The old one was made of mud, but it was damaged beyond repair in the rains. They have raised funds to build a new, brick building and put a roof on it, but it has no doors, windows, desks or chairs.
Emmanuel Eratu, project director since 2012, is a great friend of mine, who works tirelessly to ensure the children in his locality can receive a good education and food. I have followed his progress over the years, seen him gain his Social Work degree, and progress into charity work, giving himself wholeheartedly to this project.
The school you see in the photo was built by volunteers. All the money collected went to purchase materials. He has no way of finding the rest. It is soon going to start raining, and the children need to be protected from the rain, so windows and doors are essential. If we can find enough money for the desks and chairs as well that will be wonderful.
There are targets along the way:
Door frames £286.91
Glass £502.13
Labour £358.67
Transport £278.97
Feeding £124.54
Chairs and tables £3,706.36
Total: £5,257.58
This is a project where every penny counts and every penny will be used to make a difference to the children who need it most. If just 30 people give £10 we can buy the door frames. 80 people, and we can buy the glass as well.
Please share with all your friends and lets make a real difference to some individual lives.
