Story
My name is Andreja and I'm a sixth form student at St. Ignatius College in Enfield.
During July 2017, I will be one of the few students fortunate enough to visit and help at our sister school St Ignatius Prep & Primary in Dodoma, Tanzania.
St Ignatius College in Enfield and its students has always endeavored to help St Ignatius Prep in accordance with its core values, which in turn has comforted me with the simple reminder of our role in society to be men and women for others for the greater glory of God. In this way, it can be maintained that by helping these young children in Tanzania, this would be the best way for me to exercise these values. In order to do this, myself and 15 other students from St Ignatius will be in Tanzania- aiding the school through the arrangement of lessons, by teaching in Dodoma for two weeks and by also organising a sports day.
The fundraising already completed has held a significant impact on St Ignatius in Dodoma: not only have the facilities of St. Ignatius Prep and Primary been improved, but children from less privileged backgrounds in Tanzania have been able to receive an education mainly focused on developing core skills (including English as a priority) that they would not have otherwise been able to afford or have access to.
Despite the pleasantries, there are essential costs I must raise which total at £1000… Any support you may offer to enable for our visit to take place, as small as it may seem, would be of great benefit to the children in Tanzania for whom this trip and its efforts are dedicated to.
I thank you for your kindness and support ☺
