Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Autism Support Kilkeel is a registered charity helping children and young adults on the Autism Spectrum to reach their full potential. It provides support and life enhancing services for children and young adults living with or suspected of having an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families/carers. This involves assisting them to achieve their maximum potential for community involvement, social inclusion and the opportunity to access employment and other facilities enjoyed by other non-Autistic members of the community.
We endeavour to raise awareness of autism and to educate the public, relevant professionals and organisations so they may improve services for autistic people.
We currently provide a free, supportive information service and facilitate other related activities, which are run or overseen by the family members. We utilise support and early intervention programmes, which build on each child's individual strengths enabling them to achieve their full potential.
We provide an opportunity for development of swimming, horse riding, gymnastic and music among other therapies which encourage community involvement with the object of improving children social outcomes.
We are currently running both a parents group with the focus on improved mental health,
we provide activities in house for social interaction including dance and messy play sessions. We also provide trips to local attractions for all the family to enjoy.
