Story
The Student Experience Team at the University of Hertfordshire will be taking part in The Twilight Walk this Sunday 15th October hosted by The Brain Tumour Charity to show our support for Andrew Francis and his family.

Andrew is a very special colleague and dear friend to us all at the University having worked here for an amazing 22 years. Six months ago, Andrew was diagnosed with a brain tumour which as you can imagine has been extremely difficult for him, his family and people all around him. His high spirits, support and sense of humour has strongly been missed at the University since he has been resting at home with his family but his regular email snapshots and encouraging motivating life goals always help us to appreciate the small things in life and put a smile on all our faces.
This is one of our favourite eye openers from Andrew recently, ‘Go slowly. Close your eyes and say: Please, mind, go a little slower. Think a little less. Relax a little more. Then breathe. Go out into the world and smell the roses. Hug the people you love. Listen to the birds sing. Be alive with the feeling of life every chance you get’.
We would like to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity and another charitable cause chosen by Andrew and show our support to Andrew and his family and try to make a difference in this fight to defeat brain tumours.

6 years agoUPDATE: Thanks everyone for all the funds. Today we donated 50% of the funds to the Brain Tumour Charity and the other 50% to the Isabel Hospice. Both charities were extremely appreciative of the money. Andrew has left Isabel Hospice but still battling on. Andrew's wife, Charmaine, is running a 5K for Isabel Hospice on Andrew's birthday. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Charmaine-Francis
