Story
Leyland Trucks Helping Hand is a non-profit organisation run by a dedicated committee of Leyland Trucks and PACCAR Parts employees.
Founded in 1994 by a group of enthusiastic workers who wanted to help disadvantaged employees and local causes, the Charity has recently celebrated its 20 year anniversary.
Throughout the year, employees and their families raise money through various fundraising events. The money raised is then donated to local charities, organisations and causes.
Having started to commute to work on my bike, I was recently convinced to push myself a bit further than my 8 mile commute and take on the Coast to Coast Cycling Challenge. This involves riding from Bowness in Solway overlooking the Irish sea to Tynemouth near Newcastle looking out to the North sea. All this is to be achieved riding through the beautiful Northumberland scenery following the ancient Hadrian’s wall.
The total distance is 87miles and we would want to achieve this in a maximum of 8 hours. We plan to complete the challenge on 17th June 2017.
I would be extremely grateful if you would consider sponsoring me as I take on this challenge and enable me to reach my target of £120 for the various local causes supported by the Leyland Trucks Helping Hand Charity.
Thank you for your support,
Andy
