On September 16 Chester Cathedral is running an all day organ marathon from 9am to 9pm to raise funds for the grand organ restoration. Normally participants give a half-hour recital and promise to raise £250 in sponsorship. I have taken on an hour, and am including performances from my five organ pupils in the programme. I have undertaken to raise £250 and the pupils are planning to raise the remaining £250 between them. As well as raising money for the cathedral this is a wonderful educational opportunity for my pupils (from beginner to Grade 7) to perform on such a fine and famous instrument! Please give generously.
