Weʼve raised £115 to To Support The Work of Help Refugees in Calais, France

    Calais, France
Funded on Monday, 27th March 2017

    Story

During March Myself, Jade Knevett-Jones and Peter Baxter will travel to Calais France to volunteer with Help Refugees. We would like to take a cash donation with us. 100% of donations we receive will go to Help Refugees. Your valuable donation will help support vulnerable Refuges and unaccompanied Children. Donations help provide accommodation, food and essential help to vulnerable Child Refugees in Calais.

We were shocked and appalled to hear that, while the French authorities destroyed the Refugee Camp in Calais last September, they did not provide adequate facilities to house and take care of Refugees that were displaced. There is still a large number of Refugees and unaccompanied Children in and around Calais. The British and French authorities have abandoned these vulnerable People and Children. With the UK Government ending the DUBS scheme, after taking just 350 unaccompanied Children, no more vulnerable Children will be granted passage from Calais to the UK.

This affront to Human values is outrageous and we want to do something to help!

    Please donate whatever you can.

Thanks to all of you :)

You can also help by writing to your MP and expressing your concern about the government closing the Dubs scheme #dubsnow

And by signing this petition: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/183921

We also welcome any donated items that we can take with us and give to the Help Refugees warehouse in Calais for redistribution to Refugees in Calais, Paris, Dunkirk and the rest of France and Europe. We will be driving a car over so have limited space which is why we principally ask for cash donations. Please get in touch if you are able to donate any of the items on this list except food items:

Make a difference! It's sorely needed.

Jade, Peter and I are three, thirty something Cardiff people. We are tired of seeing people and children treated so poorly on Britain's door step. We want to help those on the front lines in whatever way we can.
