Story
Andrew Calvert had a very rare disorder called Alpha-thalassemia mental retardation syndrome (ATRX) and sadly passed away on 25 July 2018. His funeral will be held at Rotherham Crematorium at 11.30am on Tuesday 21 August 2018, exactly one month after his 29th birthday. All that knew him and want to attend are welcome.
As a family, we are asking for donations instead of flowers and the money raised will help towards purchasing a memorial bench for Andrew at his care home, Fenney Lodge in Rotherham, where he lived for the last 12 years. Any money remaining will be donated to the Gibbons Group at The John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford who are researching the ATRX protein which they hope will assist to develop future cancer treatments. See the link below for further information.
