What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Some years ago we started up the Gloucestershire Teachers XV to drag Teachers out once a year to play a rugby game together.

This year is different, we are coming together to raise money to support one of our own Katherine Poole, who was tragically injured whilst on holiday over a year ago.

We want to raise as much money as possible, not just the target. All the players are contributing £10 each to play in the fixture on Wednesday 23rd May at Stroud Rugby Club Dudbridge Hill, Stroud GL5 3HS 7:00pm Kick Off

You can donate directly on the page

You can take out a sponsorship in the match evening program £100

You could be the sponsor on the Kit

You could donate the materials needed for the work currently being undertaken at the Poole's family home

Please donate directly on the page, and come along on the evening to watch the match, support the players and get involved in the fundraising on the night too

Katherine's story is below:

Like lots of working mums, Katherine Poole treated herself to a girlie weekend in Barcelona with her close friend. Unfortunately, tragedy stuck when she crossed a busy road on a particularly rainy evening. Katherine was run over at high speed. She has been left with significant, life changing injuries. The initial nine difficult months, that have saw Katherine fight for her life and undergo grueling rehabilitation at the Brain injury Unit at Frenchay, Katherine is now home to be with her husband and young son. She will need a high level of supervision and care and her home needs radical modifications to enable Katherine to have some level of independence. These modifications include improved access through the front door, fitting a toilet and wet room downstairs, landscaping the garden to be more usable for her and extending the conservatory area to enable Katherine to watch her son play.

This skilled work comes at a price!

Please give what you can to support this work.

Katherine was the most imaginative, enthusiastic and dedicated of teachers. She was treasured by students and staff, and remains so. Katherine went above and beyond for her school, her team and her students. Please join us in giving something back to this most determined, caring and committed mother, wife, daughter, sister, teacher and friend.

Apologies I couldn't make it tonight for the rugby Andy. Thoughts are with Katherine and her family after all she did for me whilst teacher training at TK.

My memory of TK and your lessons can summed up in one song: Blue Orchid. Thank you your great work and my interest in the English language! My thoughts are with all involved.
