Story
Manna House is a drop-in for the homeless and vulnerable within Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding area, and is based at the Baptist Church in Hanley.
In March 2005 a small group of volunteers got together and began serving hot meals on Thursday nights, it soon became apparent that the needs of their service users were much greater than they first thought. They began to offer clean dry clothing, toiletries and a lunch bag for the following day. They received funding for a shower and started to provide sleeping bags and blankets. They registered as a charity and extended the service provision to include a morning breakfast once a week.
But as you can imagine the needs of the visitors are getting greater, the amount of people from Stoke On Trent that are homeless is worse than ever and the number visiting the centre has increased far exceeds 100 every week.
If you can please help this charity to continue to provide a safe place for people to meet, eat and talk, where they are able to be signposted to other support agencies within the city and where they can feel safe.
