Story
Starting on May 10th I, along with a group of around 20 others, will be cycling the 280 miles from Turf Moor to the Vitality Stadium in Bournemouth to raise funds for the Barry Kilby Prostate Cancer Appeal.
Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in men, and 1 in 8 men will get Prostate Cancer in their lifetime. Over 47,000 men are diagnosed with Prostate Cancer each year - that's 130 men every day - and more than 11,000 men a year will die from the disease.
That's the equivalent of one death every hour.
Following his own diagnosis of advanced Prostate Cancer, Mr. Kilby founded BKPCA initially to help raise money for a new prostate scanner at Burnley General Hospital. Following that early success the Appeal has now expanded and has since funded a number of PSA testing events based at both Burnley's Turf Moor stadium and Preston North End's Deepdale.
