Story
YELA Bus - stands for Yateley Elderly and Less Able Bus.
When Andy took early retirement aged 58 he really needed a mission. Working for the community, as a Local Councillor and Mayor, he became interested in local needs and in particular transport issues for the less able members. YELA Bus provided much needed accessible transport provision but needed some direction and Andy's unique skill set of mathematician and analyst, helped navigate the non profit organisation through to financial viability. He became their President.
Just before his death in October a second bus joined the growing fleet and has been named 'the Andy Bus' in his honour.
Andy put so much time and energy into this project, that his family felt it would be fitting to choose this organisation to fund raise for.

Andy was a great friend and fellow musician at St Swithuns- will always remember his trumpeting "Hark the herald angels" at Christmas - in his own particular arrangement.

Dad was so passionate about this organisation - it became a big part of his life and consequently ours - hearing all the ups and downs of fundraising and viability issues. YELA Bus is now an important part of Yateley's community and we are really proud of what he's achieved.
