This year has been harder than most and your kindness means we can do something nice and show those struggling that they do matter, that we care and that they are not forgotten, we are all thinking about them.

Each year the CWU Greater Mersey Amal Branch run collections for 'nice treats' the nicer things that are not 'essential' but what the rest of us have at this time of year: chocolate, selection boxes, biscuits etc. We distribute them to community groups and charities across the Branch area ( The LCR, Wigan, Warrington, Skem..etc.). In recent years we have been overwhelmed by the support, generosity and compassion shown by the members of our branch members, families and friends. However, as we all know, 2020 has been the year of years and lots of our Branch areas have COVID restrictions in place this year meaning members cannot visit any of the normal drop off points or are being forced to work from home, some are having to isolate so cannot get out to buy the items themselves. This is an opportunity to donate money instead and the Branch Officers will source the chocolate etc. and distribute it on your behalf - Branch members can contact us if you think a local community group could benefit from this. Just £1 will cover the cost of a selection box or box of chocolates. The more we receive the bigger our reach and the more smiles you will bring but every £1 will make a difference - please donate and lets spread the smiles in what is the strangest and most challenging of years!
