I am raising money to help single, young, homeless people to pay deposits and rent in advance to secure permanent accommodation.

Most of these young people are on benefits or working only part time and have mental health problems. Some are sick and disabled and don't have a voice to help to express the difficulties they face on a day to day basis.

It all started about 5 years ago when a young man named Antony (see cover photo) came to see me as he was having problems with housing.He had moved to London from Blackpool when he was 23 years old. When I first met him his benefits had been stopped and I knew that I had to find a way to help him. The thing is that I am disabled myself and have been working in the community as an advocate. I was diagnosed with progressive Multiple Sclerosis 15 years ago and wheelchair bound. I have compassion for those who are sick and disabled. Antony has Asperger syndrome and has been in London for 8 years now. He had housing problems, his condition has not been acknowledged by the housing options in any of the boroughs he had approached. In spite of all his challenges Antony is hoping to study criminology.
