Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
When I was five years old, I watched a documentary about Costa Rica's sloth sanctuary. It was before school, and albeit I was still a bit sleepy, but the story of the sloth baby "Buttercup" made me cry and inspired a new love of one of the world's most special animals that are becoming more endangered by the minute. From that day on, I hoped that one day I could visit the sloth sanctuary and do my part in saving these fantastic creatures from extinction. Most people at the age of five want to be a vet, or a dancer, or even an astronaut. I wanted to be a sloth.
Now I am thirteen, and for the first time in ten years I am so close to my dream. My school have launched an expedition to Costa Rica in July 2020, which will involve animal conservation and long 60 km treks through the fast-disappearing rainforest. To go, I will have to raise all my own funds and it would mean the world to me if could get your support 😊.
