    Story

In 2012 and 2013, I visited Kenya to work in a Children's Home with orphans and vulnerable children. Since then, I have been raising money here in the UK to support another Home in Murang'a, Kenya. This Home is called Heritage of Faith and Hope Murang'a Children's Centre. It gives vulnerable children a place to live, study and thrive. These children would otherwise be living on the streets, either because they have been orphaned or neglected. You can see the work my community project has done and what we need to do next by checking out my website: http://annieoconnor942.wixsite.com/heritage-of-faith?fb_ref=Default

In October 2016, I began working for Church Army. This wonderful organisation works with some of the most vulnerable people in the UK, including those struggling with homelessness, poverty, addiction and self-harm. You can find out more about the work of Church Army, and the specific projects we are involved in here: http://www.churcharmy.org.uk/Group/Group.aspx?ID=233845

So, from 29th May to 8th June, I will be walking 133.9 miles – on the North Wales Pilgrim Way – to raise money for these two great causes. This ancient walking route takes in woodland, rivers, mountains and coastal paths. It’s a beautiful but demanding route. You can find out more about it here: http://www.pilgrims-way-north-wales.org/index.html

Why not spur me on in my efforts by sponsoring me 10p per mile (£13.39), 50p per mile (£66.95), £1.00 per mile (£133.90), or some other exciting amount? If 30 people each sponsor me £1.00 per mile, we will reach my fundraising target of £4,017! You can be one of them!
