our son Lewis is 12 years of age, he doesn't understand a lot about the world around him because of his disabilities, he was born 3 months early and had a bleed on his brain, his conditions are, autism, adhd, global development delay, hyper mobility with low muscle tone, chronic lung disease and anxiety, he loves having cuddles, playing on his tablet, watching fireman Sam and music, his favourite activities are water play, going out in the car, going for walks, going to the beach, he loves visiting family members but can become very anxious after a short while and wants to go home, he requires 24 hour a day supervision as he has no understanding of the dangers in the house or outside, he doesn't have many friends as he finds it hard to communicate with them, his speech is mostly copied from what he has heard from people talking or from the tv, he is incontinent and still wears nappies night and day, it is a real struggle for us as his parents to get him the things he needs, waterproof mattress and bed, ipad, sensory equipment, there are lots of things that we struggle to afford more so now my husband has had to leave work because of our son becoming more of a handful and for his own health reasons, we have now gotten a washable bed and will be using the funding we have received towards a tough wardrobe as lewis gets into his wardrobe, breaks the doors pulls all his clothes out and many more things, thank you to everyone who has donated so far,
