Start all the Clocks - August 1st

Back in March 2020 I was due to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Macmillan Cancer. Sadly this fell victim to the lockdown. Instead I was still able to raise over £2,000 by running a solo half marathon from my home village. On the day itself I was given a huge (but socially distanced) send off by our villagers, who were also very generous with their donations. Now that the postponed London Landmarks Half Marathon is finally taking place on August 1st, I want to thank the village for that support by running it for a good cause close to home.

Just like that London landmark Big Ben, our own village clock has fallen silent this past year. The clock striking mechanism is in need of urgent overhaul and repair. This will cost several thousand pounds to put right. Any funding I can raise will be used to repair the clock and help make a few improvements to the tower to ensure the clock and bells remain in good working order for decades to come.

The charitable organisation receiving any donations is Appleton-le-Moors PCC who will only use these funds for the purposes of the clock and tower repairs. If you can gift aid then I will contact you separately as we can't use Just Giving to do this as the PCC isn't registered on their system.
