Story
I work for Co-op Funeralcare and one of my colleagues, Lee Rankin, has terminal Lymphoma Leukaemia. This man is a true inspiration to all his colleagues and friends, he has went through numerous treatments and transfusions since being diagnosed in 2015. He comes into work everyday with a smile on his face and is keen to work even though sometimes you can see he’s struggling. Working in the funeral industry means that he is constantly in contact with bereaved family’s and he is always a great support to them. The only time you find him in a bad mood is when his beloved Rangers or Man City have been beaten. When I asked Lee which charity he would like me to fundraise for I expected one linked to his illness. NO, Lee again thinking of others wants the funds to go to a children’s charity. Both Lee and his loving wife Tracy are in the process of setting up a charity called ‘Making Memories’. Tracy is the driving force behind this and is very passionate about family’s having accessible funds to allow them to make amazing memories with their children in the face of tragic circumstances
