I am a gynaecologist by profession. I am from Kolkata ,India,but based in UK for last 17 years. I am involved with community group Essex Indians for last seven years and completed different fundraising project through cultural activities in different venues of London and Essex. This year I led two fund raising events ;one was in Essex and other in West London. Both these events were dedicated to fund raising for Humanity Hospital, Kolkata.
Humanity hospital was founded by Subhasini Devi ,septagenerian street vegetable vender. To support expansion of Humanity Hospital I have directed two cultural programmes in Uttorsuri - Generation Next concert on18th June,2017. I will be directing drama Dampati -The couple, on 16th August ,at Kolkata as another fundraising event.
I was planning all these events within my own comfort zone with support of my family and friends.

However in month of May I witnessed unexpected loss of two very young lives . One of my friend lost her child unexpectedly due to severe allergic reaction despite having best medical care in UK.
The other child was an orphan whom we were trying to provide expert medical care in Calcutta with help of our friends. He was partially cured after months treatment but his dad compelled us to stop the treatment and took him back to remote village of North Bengal. He passed away within two weeks of returning home due to lack of proper care.
These two incidents affected me deeply and made me feel that it is so important to improve awareness and medical care.

I have taken a challenge of solo driving from Land's end to John o'Groats on August Bank holiday,Sunday,27th August,2017. I will be driving approximately 886 miles in one day in about 17-18 hours. It is my challenge to do something out of my comfort zone in memory of Nainika and Srijal. It is my pledge to do something purposeful to raise fund for humanity hospital and pay respect to works of Subhasini Devi.
