Story
As a result of extended budget cuts for the arts across all schools, the school has no resources to purchase new musical instruments. From September, I will be teaching years 3 and 4 Music once a week and currently we only have recorders and some percussion to use in the lessons. It would be great to have a full class set of ukuleles to use as they are fun and easy to learn and are more conducive to learning the music that the kids listen to (we'll use recorders and drums as well on a rotation system). The kids will even be able to take their instrument home and practice every week so that they can reinforce their learning. The idea is that the kids will be able to learn the different elements of music using the different instruments and by the end of each year, they will have learned the basics of each of them: Melody (Recorder/Voice) Harmony (Ukulele/Voice) Rhythm (Drums/Ukulele).
Please help us however you can, these ukuleles will be of enormous benefit to the school and will help to enrich the children's music lessons.
All donors will be invited to an end-of-year concert at the school to hear the ukes being played.
Anyone who donates more than £20 will get a FREE ukulele lesson courtesy of yours truly!
Thank You!
