My name is Astrid Padilla and I am entering the British Veterans Gymnastics Championships to help fundraise a kidney transplant for my friend Jorge Olveda.

Jorge was a very talented professional BMX rider until one day around 5 years ago he was diagnosed with kidney failure. From one day to another his life changed dramatically. He went from being a professional athlete that used to train 6 hours a day to having to go to hospital for 3 hours each 3 days for hemodyalisis.

BMX was more than just a hobby for him , it was his job, his passion and his dream just as gymnastics is my life and I can't imagine a day without it. The passion he has for his sport and life has inspired me to try to do something to help him fund the kidney transplant that he urgently needs to be able to have a better quality of life and to ride his bike again.

This will be a unique challenge for me as I used to practice gymnastics as a kid but stopped nearly 21 years ago. Please help me to raise funds to help Jorge return to his sport as well.
