Phoebe was born in August 2016, 6 weeks premature and in need of surgery to reverse her duodenal atresia. Thanks to the amazing staff at Leicester Royal Neonatal Unit she went from strength to strength and after living her first 3 weeks in hospital we were able to take her home and start dreaming of a normal family life.

9 months later we were back at Leicester Royal because Phoebe had contracted Pneumococcal Disease which developed into Septicaemia. Once again, the staff in A&E and Intensive Care were amazing but she tragically lost her life just over 24 hours later.

The shock was unreal. Nothing prepares a parent to lose a child but both Steve and I are determined to honour Phoebe with happiness and positivity.

Your donation will help us support other families in similar circumstances to ours, at both the start and end of Phoebe's life. We also feel strongly we want to support charities researching vaccinations to fight back against the bacteria that took her life.
