I started this is the hope that we could raise money for the treatment of my mums gorgeous Great Dane Lana. Lana was the most funny, sweet, kind and loveing gentle giant you could ever meet. Everyone who met Lana fell in love with the big clumsy lump, it was pretty hard not too. Lana had only been a part of our lives for several months but she meant the world to everyone, she was our family and I still cant beleive she never even made it to see her 1st birthday, she was taken from us far too soon. With no real warning at all Lana's health started deteriorating rapidly. The big girl started with a a bit of a limp, she was taken straight to the vet and at first was thought she had just knocked herself but in no time at all she had also grown a big lump over her eye and had stopped eating and was loseing weight rapidly. The vets kept doing their tests on her and she was eventually sent to see a specialist. With all the appointments, tests and medication Lana needed, the vet bills kept mounting up and had soon gone well over my mums insurance limit. I started this page initially to help my mum with these costs and to help Lana keep getting the treatment our lovely baby both needed and deserved, we hoped and prayed there would be something the vets could do to save her life. On speaking to the specialist today and after even more tests on poor Lana, we got the news that we where all dreading. Lana did have bone cancer as they had thought and it had spread through the whole of her body, she had became so weak she had even broken her ribs whilst being in the vets. We where told there was no cure for her and we had to come to the heart breaking decision as a family today to let our beautiful girl go. Lana was surrounded by her family and went to sleep knowing how much she was loved. It was heartbreaking watching as his big droopy eyes closed for the very last time but we couldnt see her in any more pain, she had suffered enough. As well as dealing with the loss of our much loved Lana my mum has had to find well over a thousand pounds now for her treatments, I am now hoping through this that we can atleast get her some of her money back or even enough to pay to get a nice memorial stone for Lana for her garden. It wont bring Lana back, it wont ease the families pain but atleast it will help my mum out in this devasting time and give the family somewhere perminent where we can remember our beautiful baby girl and where she can rest in peace. I hope you can help. I have not done crowdfunding like this before so I am not really sure how to go about doing this or what I should be putting on but we just wanted to try and do something to help my mum at this time and to give Lana the final resting place she deserves. So all the money now raised here will go to my mum to help her towards the costs she has/will still occur and to get our lovely Lana a special place to rest and a nice memorial stone. I know times are tight and Christmas is coming but if you can donate even a small amount, anything at all would be a massive help and would be greatly appreciated by us all.
